Introduction to Esalen Massage
Physical touch is one of our most important innate needs. Whether you are lovers or good friends, come explore intimacy through touch. Join Sam Sebastian for a weekend retreat at a BEAUTIFUL cabin near Lake Oroville as we explore how to listen with our hearts and hands, how to ask for needs, and how to communicate skillfully through touch.
Esalen massage is a unique type of bodywork that was developed at the Esalen Institute on the coast of Big Sur. It is known for its long integrative strokes, inspired by the waves of the ocean. This deeply relaxing healing art will enhance your mind, body, and spirit; Esalen’s signature long strokes facilitate feelings of wholeness, connection, and healing integration. Throughout this workshop, you will be learning these whole-body massage methods.
This two-day couples workshop will include multiple interactive massage demonstrations:
- the backside of the body
- the front side of the body
- full body with specific detail work
- enjoy yoga
- time spent in nature
- a fire pit
- exquisite meals prepared for you

Overview of weekend schedule:
Friday ~ Arrive between 6 pm – 11 pm Get situated, relax, and get acquainted with the group.
Saturday ~ 11 am – 6 pm Workshop
Sunday ~ 9 am – 4 pm Workshop
TICKET’S INCLUDE FOOD, ACCOMMODATIONS, AND WORKSHOP!
What to bring:
- Water Bottle
- Comfortable clothes to move in/warm layers
- 1-2 sets of sheets to use on the massage table
- Comfort belongings of choice…pillows, eye mask, earplugs, etc.
